TROOP 75101 GIRL SCOUTS OF AMERICA

John 3:14-21

And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. 16“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. 17“Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18Those who believe in him are not condemned; but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. 20For all who do evil hate the light and do not come to the light, so that their deeds may not be exposed. 21But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.”

Blazing trails and redefining what is possible for girls everywhere since 1912, the Girl Scouts of America started with 18 girls in Savannah, Georgia. Since then, small groups of girls gather to unlock their true potential, make lifelong friends and make the world a better place. We also are blessed by their delicious cookies.

Over the years, various Girl Scout troops have called the T. Oakley Andrews Scouting Center home. Today, Troop 75101 meets on Friday evenings to further their scouting journey. As a past Girl Scout myself, I know first hand the fun of exploring the badges, outdoors, and service being part of a troop provides and I am proud to share the Girl Scout sign, repeat the Girl Scout Promise, “on my honor I will try: to serve God and my country, to help people at all times, and to live by the Girl Scout Law” and welcome new friends into the friendship circle as one is silver and the other is gold.

Prayer

Gracious Lord, we offer prayers for those Girl Scouts and their leaders who gather on our church campus. May they continue to live up to the Girl Scout Law, as they do their best to be honest, fair, friendly, and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong. May we all be responsible for what we say and do as we follow Christ’s example in word and deed. It is in his name we pray, Amen.
