Joel 2:28-29
28 Then afterward
I will pour out my spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams,
and your young men shall see visions.
29 Even on the male and female slaves,
in those days I will pour out my spirit.
Sometimes when I am in a crowd of people, I am amazed by the sheer number of folks. Whether standing in line at Disney or at a large football game, it is amazing to often see so many people, many of whom I have never seen and likely will never see again. This world has 8.25 billion people in it that stretch the globe and the vast majority of those people we will never see, meet, or know.
The thing that often blows my mind when I think about all these people is the fact that God created each person and loves each of them completely. I struggle sometimes to keep up with emails and texts let alone keeping up with all the people of this earth. And, yet that is how big and amazing God is. For each of us, through every moment of every day, God is loving us and watching over us. For every person on this earth, God is loving them and watching over them. There is a not a person on this earth that is not loved by God. Whether old, young, male or female, we are all loved by God through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer
God of all, in all the abundance of this world, and the billions of people, you are present for each of us. No matter how big or small our lives are, you value each of us and call us toward your service. Thank you for creating us, redeeming us, and sustaining us. In loving return, Amen.
