Proverbs 3:5-7
5Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.
6In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
7Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
These key verses in chapter 3 are the center of Biblical wisdom: the Lord is the heart of one’s life; and when one is anchored there, the impossible is possible. How smooth, indeed, is my path when I trust and allow God to guide my life, and my decisions. This Biblical touchstone espoused by the author of Proverbs allows such ancient words to be new again.
Prayer
O God of my salvation, in my daily walk may I truly focus my sight and my heart to your ways. May I experience the wisdom of true discipleship that is a rock and a guiding light, in Christ’s name I pray, Amen.
