OF THE FATHER’S LOVE BEGOTTEN

Some may contend that this is not really an Easter song. But let’s think about the story. Jesus was nailed to a cross and thrown into a tomb on Friday (Good Friday). And on Sunday (Easter Sunday), He arose victorious.

We have a stained-glass window in the narthex that has “Christus Victor” emerging from the tomb while the angels and guards bow before Him. That Jesus Christ is the Victorious King IS the Easter message:

O ye heights of heaven adore Him.
Angel hosts His praises sing.
Powers, dominions bow before Him,
And extol our God and King!

Prayer

Christ, to Thee with God the Father, and, O Holy Ghost, to Thee, hymn and chant and high thanksgiving, and unwearied praises be. Amen.
