When you wake up in the morning do you give God your to do list and ask Him to bless it or do you stop and ask God, what would you have me to do today? I must admit, most of the time, I ask Him to bless my time, not the other way around. But I love the imagery that Lysa gives us in this quote about joining hands with Jesus. When you join hands with someone it’s comforting, protecting, and you are stronger together.
That’s exactly how we should face each day, joining our hands with Jesus and letting Him direct our steps, guide us along the path of His choosing, and helping us to share His love with all of those we encounter along the way. When we don’t make it all about us and instead all about Him, I will guarantee you our attitudes will improve, our stress level will diminish, and our focus will be more on His Kingdom and plans for us. I am sure it will be better than anything we could have planned. Let’s try shifting our focus this week and waking up and surrendering our day to Him and seeing where He leads.
Prayer
Gracious Lord, lead us, guide, us, and direct us Lord to do Your will, not just the plans we want or think we need to do. Help us Lord to be Your people and shine Your light everywhere we go. Amen.
