The first nine chapters of II Chronicles present an idealized picture of Solomon’s reign. Chapters ten through thirty-six cover the years of the divided kingdom and the exile of the southern kingdom, as the Judean kings after Solomon fail in their religious duty and obedience to God.
II Chronicles 1:1
1 Solomon son of David strengthened himself in his kingdom; the Lord his God was with him and made him exceedingly great.
