I love Contemporary worship music. If you ever ride anywhere with me, you will soon discover, that’s all I listen to. I feel like God speaks to me a lot through Contemporary worship music. As soon I read Lysa’s quote for today, I thought of the song – I Speak Jesus by Charity Gayle. Our praise band has sung this song several times in worship and two times they have sung it, I was serving as liturgist and was nearly moved to tears. When you stop and really focus on the lyrics, it’s powerful my friends. Here are a few verses I want to share with you.

Friends, as followers of Christ, we have the authority and the calling to speak the name of Jesus over whatever is going on in our lives as well as our friends’ and neighbors’ lives. I think we often forget that “and if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” Romans 8:11
There is also great hope and comfort in just speaking His name. Jesus, Jesus, I need You. Sometimes that’s all you need to say, and you can feel His presence right there with you.
Prayer
Jesus, help us to remember that we can simply say your name, day or night. You are always there. We can always just speak Your name into our hearts or speak Your name over all situations that come our way. We love you. Amen.
