The gift of the global church is music and hymns, including this hymn of Thanksgiving from the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is based on a recurring affirmation of thanks found throughout scripture, most directly in the Psalms. Psalms like Psalm 73:1 which begins, “truly God is good.”
This brief hymn is shared in English as well as the original Shona language. This easy to learn and join in joyful worship, is a great response following the Assurance of Pardon which in at a continuing education event, I have lifted my voice in singing.

Prayer
Within the Psalms, again and again these ancient prayers remind us of your steadfast love, Oh Holy One. May we allow the words, such as the musical refrain, God is good truly be the songs of our heats, now and always. Amen.
