Ecclesiastes 3:14
I know that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it; God has done this, that all should stand in awe before him.
This photo is a little bit of a cheat, as much as I enjoy fireworks, I’ve yet to time a good photo with the boom and sparkle. So I am sharing a professional one of my favorite, most beloved 4th of July firework experience of my childhood, Red, White and BOOM in downtown Columbus Ohio. The cherished memories of my family making it an entire day event, packing the cooler and chairs, to then walk the streets, beg for sparklers and glow sticks, smell the delicious fair foods before settling in, at dusk for the event. We would all tune our radios to the local station and wait for the BOOM. A coordinated extravaganza would begin with such a variety of fireworks colors and shapes would explode before our eyes magically timed to music. Just a night of wonder and joy.
Prayer
Holy God, in the celebrations and excitement of 4th of July, may I pause and stand in awe of your marvelous works. May we remember the sacrifices of those who’ve gone before so that we may enjoy such freedom as the firework’s booms ring and echo beyond this night. In the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, Amen.
