Proverbs 11:22
22 Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout
is a beautiful woman without good sense.
Pigs don’t get a lot of respect in our day and time. (Just call someone a pig and see how they respond.) That hasn’t changed much from Bible times. (Jesus talked about the foolishness of casting pearls before swine (Matthew 7) and He cast out demons and they inhabited a herd of swine (Matthew 8). And then picture this in your mind —- a gold ring in a pig’s snout. It’s about as useful as an attractive person without good sense.
Try to act with common sense.
Prayer
God, my humble prayer today is that I might me use the brain you gave me in such a manner that I will be more useful to others than a pig with a gold ring in its snout. Amen.
