I am thankful for the power of imagination
Ephesian 3:221
20 Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
I had never thought of myself as Captain America. (A long, long time ago I had played the parts in my mind and backyard of Batman and Zorro, but those dreams have since faded.) My little playmate, though, dressed in the Spiderman outfit his Granny T had bought him, looked me straight in the eye and said “I’m Spiderman, and you’re Captain America!” And as far as he was concerned, in that moment, we were superheroes.
That’s the wonder of imagination. We can be something great. And if we can dream it, it might even come true. Imagination is alive in children as they play. Imagination can also find a home in adults as we live with faith.
I thank God for our imaginations, because “by God’s power at work within us God is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine.”

Prayer
God, show me what you want me to do and be, and help me to trust that by the power of the Holy Spirit within me, you will accomplish more than I can imagine. I ask this as one who is claimed and directed by my Lord and Savior, Jesus, in whose name I pray. Amen.
