Thank you for visiting First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven On-Line.
If you happen by the church building, you will notice our "Christ window"
facing Highway 17, a major route through Winter Haven. The out-stretched hands
of Christ, and the inscription below the window "Come unto me ..." have
served as our church's invitation to membership and ministry for the last 75
years.
We hope that this invitation is still being extended through our members,
staff, and programs. Enjoy learning more about us on-line. And if you are
ever close enough to see our window, please stop in and get to know us.
In Christ,
Steve Negley
Pastor

Kids Summer Programs at First Pres
Kidz Summer Escape
You are invited to the Kidz Summer Escape Program at First
Presbyterian for six weeks of summertime fun for children ages 3
through kindergarten graduates. We meet on Tuesdays and
Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Join your friends and a delightful group of teachers on Tuesdays and
Wednesdays, starting on Tuesday, June 11 and wrapping up on
Wednesday, July 17.
Welcome to Kingdom Rock - a regal, royal
(and rockin') place where kids discover what
it means to stand strong for God.
Kingdom Rock is towering with fun for kids,
teens, and adults. Everyone involved in this
VBS will jump into God's Word . . . and
never be the same again!
For the summer, First Presbyterian church will continue to
offer two varied opportunities for worship. Both Sunday
morning worship services help us focus on God through
the same scripture and sermon and both include a Time
for Younger Disciples.
At 8:30 a.m. members
and friends of First Presbyterian Church are invited to attend The
Gathering. This service is held in the sanctuary. The piano is the primary
instrument for leading in congregational music with a variety of
instruments adding special touches from week to week. The prayers in
worship and the flow of the service helps the congregation gather in
God's love. The Gathering ordinarily lasts 50 minutes and will conclude
with the Benediction at 9:20 a.m.
At 9:30 a.m. everyone
is invited to come to McLeod Hall for our Sunday School opening time.
After prayer together, children and adults will be dismissed to their own
summer classes.
At 10:30 a.m. you are
invited to attend our later morning worship. This service is held in the
sanctuary with music and responses regularly led by our chancel choir
and accompanied by organ and piano. In the tradition of our church
cultivated over the last few decades, a full liturgy gives the congregation
opportunities for spiritual enrichment and the sense of God’s love and
grace. This worship service ordinarily lasts one hour and concludes with
the Benediction at 11:30 am.
THERE WILL BE NO SUNDAY SCHOOL
ON SUNDAY, MAY 26, MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND.
